There is nothing more important that the safety and well-being of your children.
To parents, carers, teachers and friends...
PLEASE remind the children in your care of the necessity to be particularly vigilant on the way to and from school. Traffic is very busy on all streets adjacent to our school, and it is SO important that the children follow the RSA's road safety advice at all times. Children who come and go to school on their own are encouraged to access the school via the Church Road entrance, where crossing the road is assisted by a School Traffic Warden, provided by Wicklow County Council. There is no warden at the Victoria Road access, adjacent to the railway bridge, so children must be especially careful and should be supported by supervising adults.
PLEASE note that, for safety reasons, there are parking restrictions relating to the school. PLEASE support these approved parking arrangements. The official car park for the school is at St Patrick’s Church (entrance at the junction of Church Road and Church Lane), where parking is available for all parents and visitors. Those who use this facility may cross Church Road with the School Traffic Warden at the main school entrance. For safety and logistical reasons, the small car park at the school is strictly limited to staff and those who require disabled parking facilities.
The Board of Management (BOM) and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) urges parents to consider the safety of all when driving children to or from school, and also to avoid parking where you will cause disruption to local residents or neighbouring facilities such as the Health Centre.
