Well done to our 6th Class pupils, who represented us so well at Christ Church Cathedral today. This year's annual Diocesan Service for Primary Schools as extra special, as it celebrated to 800th anniversary of the establishment of the joint Diocese of Dublin and Glendalough (or as originally, Glendalough and Dublin!).
Schools from throughout the Diocese of Dublin and Glendalough took an active part in the service, where the theme was Living History, Living God. All schools were invited to present a copy of their school crest, as well as a selection of personal prayers, and these were places in a huge time capsule in the form of a round tower (to represent Glendalough). The service was attended by the Patron of our school, Archbishop Jackson, as well as the Archbishop of Spain and Archbishop of Lusitania (Portugal) who were special guests.
After the service, we visited the crypt, where we met the cathedral's most famous residents - a cat and a mouse... For more information about them, click HERE.
