Our school has a long tradition of awareness-raising, as well as fundraising, for a wide number of charitable organisations. A small number of ‘core’ charities receive a focus and support at the school from year to year, all of them being well-known to our wider school community through personal experience. They include The Irish Hospice Foundation, The Children’s Medical and Research Foundation (CMRF) at Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin, and the TEAM HOPE Christmas Shoe Box Appeal.
Each year, on an ongoing basis, other registered charities are nominated and considered as our school’s ‘designated charity’ for a term.
The designated charity for 2016/17, Term 1 was Heart Children Ireland (Registered Charity Number: CHY10022), which aims to enable all people affected by Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) to live the best possible lives.
